  2. Original microchip certificate for each pet

On the day of departure Petwings will submit these documents to the South African State Vet for certification and endorsement.

STEP 6

Clearance at destination

It is advised that your pets arrive at their destination during the week and preferably during normal office hours. This will ensure timely clearance through Customs and the presiding State Vet while avoiding additional charges.

Where applicable and unless stated otherwise, the consignee is responsible for Import Permit, Import Customs, and Clearance at destination (we can advise you).

OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES TO CONSIDER

Puppies and kittens may not travel to Israel on their dam’s vaccinations. They must have their first rabies vaccination administered at 12 weeks of age (3 months) and then start the exporting procedure.

·     For your pet’s comfort during travel, we encourage you to include a favourite blanket, soft toy, or old T-shirt with your scent which we will place in their travel container.

·     Chemical and other strong sedatives are NOT ALLOWED.

·     Mild herbal remedies such as Rescue, CalmEze, catnip spray or other valerian root extracts are permitted.

Please inform your Petwings consultant of any brachycephalic (snub nose) pets traveling as certain airline, routing and seasonal restrictions may apply.

·     There are no banned dog breeds in Israel.

·     The following breeds will need extra documents and requirements in order to enter Israel: American Staffordshire Bull Terrier (Amstaff), Bull Terrier, Argentinean Dogo, Japanese Tosa, Staffordshire Bull Terrier (English Staff), Pit Bull Terrier, Brazilian Fila, Rottweiler

·     American Bully: In 2019, the Israel Ministry of Agriculture decided that an American Bully shall be considered a dangerous dog breed. A cross with a dangerous breed that exhibits physical traits like those of a dangerous breed will be seen as a dangerous breed and will need to follow the same import requirements.

·     According to the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, a Bengal cat cannot be imported into Israel.

If all of this sounds daunting, Petwings can do just about everything for you!

We’ve been transporting pets world-wide for years – here’s what some of our many happy clients have to say about us seeing our Keringa references.

NB: Due to the fact that airline and country protocols change often, we cannot be held responsible for errors, omissions, or alterations/changes. That said, Petwings pet travel agents keep up-to-date and are the best source of current rules and regulations – and they are friendly and helpful too!

TRAVELLING PETS FROM JOHANNESBURG TO ISRAEL

Our travel quotations are only approximate and are based on similar sized pets. Once your pet is at Keringa International, we will double-check your pets’ measurements.  Should your pet/s require a different size travel container, we will adjust your account accordingly and all costs will need to be paid prior to your pets’ departure. Please note that the airlines control the cargo rates, which fluctuate.  Airlines do not allow us to pay for flights in advance.

“There is hardly anything in the world that someone cannot do a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price alone are that person’s lawful prey.” John Ruskin, teacher, artist and visionary.

With us you pay for exceptional pet care and you get it.  You pay for first-class food and your pets get it.  You pay for and receive the best of everything that money can buy for them, because they deserve it.  Nothing less would be right for them because they are your children.  And we’ve been going the extra mile and doing it all for more than 48 years, so it must be right.  Right?
